Kappa Beta Gamma makes great things happen not only in its members’ lives, but also in the lives of people around the world. We take immense pride in our efforts to build and strengthen community service initiatives that reach out to those near and far.
Kappa Beta Gamma's international philanthropy is Special Olympics. Each year, every chapter across US and Canada holds events to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Special Olympics transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere. The Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities: with nearly 4 million athletes in more than 170 countries -- and millions more volunteers and supporters. The Special Olympics is a global social movement.
The sisters of our chapter really enjoy volunteering at various Special Olympics events throughout each year. This past fall, we helped out with a bowling event. This winter, we were given the opportunity to volunteer at a basketball tournament where we were able to assist and cheer on the participants. We were also so excited when we were able to volunteer at another Special Olympics sponsored event this spring called "Run With the Cops," which was a run that took place right on our campus! We had a blast setting up for the race and handing out donuts and light up necklaces to the runners as they passed by our stand.
